Last night, Los Alamitos City Council took the first step towards exempting itself from SB54 with a 4-1 vote. During the city’s mandated 2nd hearing in April, OCYD plans to stand in solidarity with our allies ACLU of Southern California, Orange County Immigrant Youth United, Chispa, Resilience OC, California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance, and CLUE: Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice.
“We are here to stand up to the Trump agenda. It starts in the city councils. It starts in these meetings that traditionally have no transparency,” said Tim Phan, Activism Chair of the Orange County Young Democrats who read a statement on behalf of OCYD last night opposing the ordinance.
